What does "mine demanded" mean in following sentence?
Girls re-appeared and mine demanded to go home.

The noun "girls" requires the article "the" before it.

"The girls reappeared (hyphen not needed) and mine demanded to go home". In this use "mine" refers to "my girl"; she was one of the girls and she wanted to leave wherever you were.
 
This text was part of a web page "open forum 2 web site transcript chapter 12". I just wrote the same sentence.
