which one is correct?

1) They might have gone/been to canada.
2) They might had gone/been to canada.

and that means we can not use "model verb + had + past participle".
Yes, that's right. Also, we can't use "modal + to infinitive".

sir actually does above both words (gone/been) for the 1st sentence make same sense of the statement or it makes a different sense?
 
i mean, is it OK to use either of these word to complete a sentence.
 
He might have gone to Canada = It is possible that he left this place, and that he is on his way to, or is actually in, Canada.
He might have been to Canada = It is possible that he went to, and left, Canada at some time in the past; he is not there now.
