My son was injured at school. I say "The officials might have told me."
Can it be used interchangeably with "should have" here? for example
"They should have told me"? Or there is a difference?

Is this form correct?
Should I not have warned him? I mean do we put "not" before have or after it?

The company should never have hired him.
He sholdn't have just fired him without any warning.
Why in the first sentecne "never" comes after "should" but in the second sentence "just" comes after "should have?

In your example, the meaning is the same as they should have told me, but this is not always the case. They might have told me can be used to express frustration, anger, etc.

3 Just could also come before have. Some adverbs are more flexible about their position in the sentence.
