When someone does not like other seasons as he likes winter.

Which sentence is correct to say:

1. He likes winter more than other seasons.

2. He likes winter rather than other seasons.

He likes winter more than any other season.

The first would work better as "He likes winter more than the other seasons."

The second doesn't work for me.

Would you please explain and give example to show how to use " rather than" in sentence?

I chose to play piano rather than the violin.

Yes, in my example that would work.

Would you please give examples to show me how to use "rather than" in sentences?
