We are different ages.

Instead of the above sentence, can we use different from like the following?

My age is different from your age.
 
I, too, would use "We're not the same age". However, if I were to open with "My age is different from", I'd end with "yours", not "your age" (to avoid unnecessary repetition of "age"). You could also say "We're different ages".
