Hello all.

I´d like to ask you whether you could check these sentences for me. My teacher told me her opinion but wasn´t 100% sure and recommended that I´d better ask you. Would you agree with her? Her "answers" are written next to the sentences. Thank you!

I never get Sarah´s gossiping about people she does not know at all. CORRECT

I never get Sara gossiping about people she does not know at all. CORRECT

I really enjoy my daughter´s playing on the piano. CORRECT

I really enjoy my daughter playing on the piano. ???

- For some reason my teacher didn´t like this sentence. I don´t why...it might be because it sounds strange to combine enjoy + my daughter.

I fell asleep even before Peter´s playing his role. It was such a boring play to watch. CORRECT

I fell asleep even before Peter playing his role. It was such a boring play to watch. INCORRECT

I have never considered my returning to Anfield real. CORRECT

People normally play the piano. They don't play on the piano. ("Play the piano" and "play on the piano"are both possible, but they mean different things.) Perhaps:

I enjoy listening to my daughter play the piano.

Perhaps:

I fell asleep before Peter played his role. It was a very boring play.

You have two sentences that are exactly the same, and one of them is marked "correct" and the other "incorrect".

The last one doesn't make sense to me. Perhaps:

I have never considered returning to Anfield.

Playing on the piano means the girl has climbed onto the instrument and is playing on top of it. My piano's case is no prize, but anyone I caught on top of it would be in serious trouble!
