Dear all,

I sometimes hear people say, "It's no big deal" in a context like below.

A: Congratulations, John! I heard you won a wrestling tournament.
B: It's no big deal. I was just lucky.

Is it okay to say, "It's not big deal", or "It's no great deal", instead of saying "no big deal"?

Thank you!

You could say "it's not a big deal"

A great deal; in BrE that means
1 a large quantity
2 a bargain.
It doesn't have the same meaning at all as "Big deal" or "No big deal"

Note the correct spelling of "tournament".
