Nobody doesn't like coffee. Is it grammatically correct?

Hello everyone,

Can we use a negative verb with "nobody" or "nothing"?

Strictly speaking, that would be a double negative and considered ungrammatical in standard English.

That being said, I'm sure you'd hear many native English speakers use it, and in some dialects and variants it wouldn't be even considered nonstandard.

It's probably best to avoid it as a language learner, especially if you're using English in an academic setting.
 
Nobody doesn't like coffee.

If the intended meaning is Nobody likes coffee, it is incorrect.
If the intended mean is Nobody dislikes coffee, it is correct.
 
"Nobody doesn't like Sara Lee!"

That's from a commercial for a seller of baked goods. It was catchy.
