Hi, Is the sentence correct?
He was not only a genius; he was a kind figures loved by many people.
I think the sentence should be He was not only a genius; but also he was a kind figures loved by many people.
What do you think?
 
They are both wrong, but only because "figures" should be "figure". Otherwise they are both okay. Six of one, half a dozen of the other.

I think the sentence should be He was not only a genius, but also he was a kind figures figure loved by many people. What do you think?

Note my corrections above. If you rewrite it as you did, the semi-colon is incorrect and should be a comma.
