[Grammar] noun + to infinitive vs noun + V-ing

Hi.

I'm wondering if there are some meaning differences in the two types of verb form(to-v and v-ing) as a adjective, I mean to modifying its preceding noun.

The example phrases are:

I took part in the campaign to promote ~~
I took part in the campaign promoting ~~

They're both acceptable and usable in that context.
 
Your examples mean the same. But if they are mere illustrations, and your question is as written, then there are often differences in meaning.
