Why the auxiliary did is before the prounoun I in affirmative form

Hi,

I found this sentance in a book: "Nowhere in my world did I see anymore who look like me...

Thanks for help to clarify why the auxiliar verb did is before the pronoun in affirmative form.

Why is the auxiliary "did" is before the prounoun pronoun "I" in the affirmative form?
