[Grammar] "number of" or "numbers of"?

If I want to say, "The number of PC users is increasing and the number of Internet users is increasing," is it possible to use the following expressions?

The number of PC users and Internet users is increasing.
The numbers of PC users and Internet users are increasing.
 
Both are possible, but the first is more natural.
