Of vs. from

Hi,

Could you elaborate on the difference between "relieved of and relieved from"? As one can say "I am relieved of pain" or " I am relieved from pain."
Can you also explain the difference in meanings of "from" and "of" while being used with "free" as in "free from and free of"?

I would simply say "my pain is relieved" so as to avoid the preposition problem.

I looked it up in several dictionaries and could only find "relieve...of" but not "relieve...from", where did you see the latter?

I would not use "relieved" the way you are using it. I would use "free". Either "of" for "from" would work, but "pain free" may be better.
