Hello Everyone,
Where would you place "often" in a frequency scale? I mean if the prediction made by a computer about results of games is often wrong, approximately how many times is it wrong out of 100?

1 to 20 times/20 to 40 times/40 to 60 times/60 to 80 times/80 to 99 times.

Thanks.

You can't put numbers on this, and absolute scales are not the right way to think about it.

If you say that a computer often makes wrong predictions, that probably means you think the computer is not reliable enough to achieve the specific purpose, and that this unreliability is an issue. The meaning comes from the context the speaker uses.

@Tait-ka If you go to the search icon (magnifying glass), type in "frequency" (without the quotation marks), tick "Search titles only" then click Search, you'll find a list of all the threads other people have started on this very topic. You'll also see, from the responses, that we always tell learners that you can't attach exact numbers to adverbs of frequency.
