Hi,
I was reading an article about Eileen Gu on Forbes.com, I have some questions. Would you please help me?
a) On the precipice of her first ever Olympic Games, Gu also models and was recently accepted to her dream school, Stanford.
Why did the author used "on the precipice of her first....". I looked up this phrase, it means "a situation of great peril". Does it mean that her time is limited?
b) And now, with the grueling Olympic qualification season underway, she’ll need to dial in her training and recovery programs to ensure she stays healthy and at peak performance into February’s Games.
Why did she need to call someone in her training?
c) “I think there's a misconception that the average skier doesn't get tired or doesn't need to recover,” Gu says. “Are you really a skier if you’ve never had a leg burner day on powder in the trees?
What does "a leg burner day..." mean?
