Hello, which one is correct?

1- A friend of mine left his home to become a saint when he was only 14 . One day in January 2020 he suddenly came to his home and I met him there.

2- A friend of mine left his home to become a saint when he was only 14 . some day in January 2020 he suddenly came to his home and I met him there.

3- A friend of mine left his home to become a saint when he was only 14 . On a day in January 2020 he suddenly came to his home and I met him there.

I'd go with the first ('one day').

Hello. Which one is correct?

1- A friend of mine left his home to become a saint when he was only 14 . One day in January 2020, he suddenly came to his back home and I met him there.

2- A friend of mine left his home to become a saint when he was only 14 . Some day in January 2020, he suddenly came to his back home and I met him there.

3- A friend of mine left his home to become a saint when he was only 14 . On a day in January 2020, he suddenly came to his back home and I met him there.
Please note my corrections above.

I agree with White Hat that "One day" is the natural choice. Note that there is a cultural aspect to your post - in most Western religions, people can't just become a saint. It only happens after they're dead and there has to be a vote (of sorts!)

@thehammer What do you think "suddenly" means?

In India they can. And are the other two correct?

In India they can.
No, they don't. You don't become a saint by deciding to become one and leaving home. You probably mean an ascetic, someone who concentrates on a spiritual life, or a hermit.

The word "saint" is often misused in India to refer to an ascetic, perhaps because there's a Hindi word that has some overlap between the two.

And are the other two correct?
This has already been answered.

As Tarheel suggests, "suddenly" is out of place there. You possibly mean it came as a surprise to you to see him again. That doesn't mean he "suddenly" appeared at his home.
