In this following context, what does the phrase ''better said'' mean? Please explain this to me.

Context:

"This subconscious life-stream is the necessary condition of all life. In it, all impressions and experiences are stored up, or better said, appear as a multiple process of past images, or memory pictures."

Source: P.14 ''Fundamentals of Buddhism'' by Nyanatiloka Mahåthera

or better said, appear as a multiple process of past images, or memory pictures."

or, to say it in a better way, appear as a multiple process of past images, or memory pictures.

It means the words that follow are a better or clearer way of expressing the idea expressed in the earlier words (all impressions and experiences are stored up).

Thanks you so much, Barque.
