Other ways to say 'in other words', 'good luck', 'good morning', 'happy birthday'

I'd only say 'Break a leg!' to actors and musicians about to perform. Others might misunderstand it.

I don't like this one, but it would have to be 'Wishing you many more candles to blow out'.

We don't say 'Wakey-wakey! Rise and shine!' to acquaintances we meet in the street.

"Knock 'em dead" is also used for "Good luck". "Wakey wakey, rise and shine" only works when you are in someone's bedroom, they are asleep and you are trying to wake them up.

In the first quadrant I'd add 'In a word' [which, like 'Can I have a word with you?', refers almost always to more than one word] and 'In a nutshell'.

I think 'Wakey wakey, rise and shine' is rather dated. My father used to say it at 8.00 a.m. on a Sunday morning, throwing the curtains wide. (He sometimes used to add 'It's the middle of the day'). And he was born in 1905. ;-)
