I tend to over use the word fun, and I am looking for synonyms or other phrases to use in conversations.

1) Lets go outside and play. It'll be so much fun.
2) It is fun to watch television.
3) We can have a lot of fun reading the book together.
4) We had fun at the carnival.
5) That is a fun game.

joy, cheer, relish

mirth [poet.]lit.
fun
gratification
gladness
rejoicing
joice
blitheness
funnies
joyousness
(good) cheer
lark [Br.]
craic [Irish]
spree
groove [sl.]
jest
sport [fun, pleasantry]

I did the same online thesaurus and dictionary search and got similar synonyms. I was looking for more common conversational substitutes that dont sound odd.

You can say "we enjoyed ourselves", followed by an appropriate adverb ("tremendously", for example). Or "we had a great time!"
