I was reading some puns on bestlifeonline.com:

I just found out that I'm color blind. The news came completely out of the green! (Source: 65 puns....)

Does the phrase "out of the green" a play of words on "out of the blue"? I know "green" is a color but I don't understand it here.

Yes- the person can't see the difference between blue and green. It isn't very funny.
