Is it wrong to use past simple with Today in this sentence? "She didn't go to school today, because she is ill."
Thank you.
I'd have a comma there.The comma after "today" isn't.
I'd have a comma there.
She didn't go to school today because she was ill. She went because she wasn't ill! That's the thing about commas. :-D
She didn't go to school today because she was ill. She went because she wasn't ill!
Suppose she is still ill now (might be in the evening, do we use '...she was ill'?
Thanks.
"She is ill, so she didn't go to school today." There's no ambiguity there.Suppose she is still ill now (might be in the evening, do we use '...she was ill'?
Thanks.
