Hi there,

Could you plz help me with this sentence (esp. the underlined part)?
Thank you.

"I have wrecked my brother's guitar that my mother made me pay for in increments for the next three years of my life."

Thanks a lot.

"I have wrecked my brother's guitar that my mother made me pay for in increments for the next three years of my life."

According to this sentence, you bought the guitar in the first place - the defining relative clause (after that) specifies the guitar that you wrecked.

I imagine that you mean that you had to buy a new one?

Also, increments are rises e.g. 5% increments.

Try this :

I have wrecked my brother's guitar and my mother is making me pay for a new one in instalments.

I hope this helps!
