Hi. I wonder whether to use the singular form of the verb "be" when saying "Armenian people is celebrating..."?
 
People are.
 
In this situation you should use the people are celebrating, but it is not always the case with certain groups of people when they have a collective name. For example, my family is/are having a barbecue tonight, or the police force is/are looking into it.
