Hi,

Are these sentences correct ?


-It will permit them to live in a better welfare.

-He permits the dog to clean itself.

-She permitted the luggage to be carried by the officer.

It will permit them to live in a better welfare.
No, that doesn't make sense. Try: It will permit them to live a better life.

He permits the dog to clean itself.
That's grammatical but somewhat unnatural. I can't imagine anyone forbidding their dog from cleaning (licking?) itself! :shock:

She permitted the luggage to be carried by the officer.
Again, it's grammatical but unnatural. Try: She permitted the officer to carry the luggage.

I'm not sure how they would manage to do it. :shocked!:
