Should our country have free health care? (This prompt is from a practice book)

Good health is an essential priority in life. If a person is healthy, He will be mostly positive, progressive, and happy, other than anxious and irritating who creates problems. A developed country should provide free health care for their people because health is one of the primary needs which should be free. People pay taxes for the progress of the country so, the government should give free health care for the progress of people.

A sound mind lives in a sound body. Healthy minds play a
significant role in the development of a nation which live in a healthy body. So, the first priority of a country should keep their generations healthy. Moreover, developed countries like America should make health care free because their people's dedication and hard work made the country developed and advanced. Thus, health care should be free for them.

Additionally, People pay taxes for the progress and advantage which include the fulfillment of essential requirements such as, clean water, pure air, healthy food and free health care etc. Without providing these necessities, the progress
cannot be attained. So, a nation should provide a free health care to reciprocate the taxes.

In last, the main
responsibility of a country is to maintain the health and safety. To achieve both, it is important to provide free health care and safe environment. These are the backbones of a developed and forward country.

In conclusion, there is no doubt that free health care is a prime necessity, and it should be given to people in return
of taxes. Only healthy people can lead their country to forward.

For a start, there was no need to capitalise "he" in paragraph 1, or "people" in paragraph 3. "In last" is wrong in paragraph 4.

Your body paragraphs need a lot of work!
Do you remember what we said about brainstorming and how to structure an essay?
Why do you think healthcare should be free? List two or three points. Do not use more than one sentence for each point.

Thoughtful, I asked you to list two or three reasons (in point form) for having/not having free healthcare.
Do not write a whole essay. Do not even write any paragraphs at this stage. Just think and write down three simple sentences. Why should healthcare be/not be free?
1-
2-
3-

Why should not healthcare be free?
1. People should follow the healthy living style rather than thinking of free health care.
2. The government should control the causes of diseases instead of providing free health care.
3. Some heathcare too expensive to be free.

I think points #1 and #3 are the same. Healthcare is a basic right for all citizens in a country.
#2 Free healthcare means a healthier workforce and greater economic growth.

--------------------------------------------------------

Why should [STRIKE]not[/STRIKE] healthcare not be free?
1. People should [STRIKE]follow the healthy living style rather than thinking of free health care.[/STRIKE] pay for their healthcare, just as they do for any other service.
2. The government can focus more on preventative programs which are less costly. [STRIKE]should control the causes of diseases instead of providing free health care.[/STRIKE]
3. Some healthcare services are simply too expensive to be free.

Now, which position do you want to take (free/not free healthcare)?

Okay, use each of the sentences below as the topic sentence for a paragraph. Remember to stay within the scope (limits) of the paragraph; do not stray off topic. Explain and elaborate on the topic sentence, and give specific examples towards the end of the paragraph. So, we start with the general topic sentence, and move towards a more specific finish to the paragraph. Write three paragraphs using the following as topic sentences.

People should pay for their healthcare, just as they do for any other service.

The government can focus more on preventative programs which are less costly.

Some healthcare services are simply too expensive to be free.

People should pay for their healthcare, just as they do for any other service. Everyone has different health need so, they can pay only for what they want. If they have to pay for healthcare, definitely they will be more careful about health expenses and choose to be active and stay fit. For example, people who keep themselves active, participate in social gatherings and sevices, do exercise tend to be healthier than others.

Moreover, the government should focus on preventive programmes which are less costly than free healthcare. The precautions are not only keep people aware about the cause of the diseases but also save the money and time which could be wasted to get rid of the disease. For example, malaria is gone due to the awareness of people about hygiene and mosquitos.

Furthermore, some healthcare are simply too expensive to be free. Many chronic diseases need regular observation, doctor's supervision, ultrasounds, and x-rays which cost a lot. It is a huge burden on the goverment if all is done by free of cost; however, an individual can pay only his part or paid by his insurance.

That's completely off topic. Talk about how people pay for transport, entertainment, travel (tourism), or for the services of lawyers, accountants and tradespeople (electricians, plumbers, painters, etc.)

Furthermore, some healthcare are simply too expensive to be free.
What's missing from that sentence? Look at post #9.
Also, note the correct spelling of "government". Such careless mistakes will cost you valuable marks in an exam.

People should pay for their healthcare, just as they do for any other service. They pay for their hobbies, travels and even for favorite food. So, they should spend themselves to take care of their body and health. This will work in both ways; one, they will try to keep themselves active and fit naturally so they can minimize their expenses on medicines, other, the government can use the money on infrastructure and development. Thus, the healthcare should be an individual expense.

The highlighted part is off topic. It is outside the scope of this paragraph. Try again.

People should pay for their healthcare, just as they do for any other service. They pay for their hobbies, travels and even pay for their foods. When it comes to the health issue they pushed it to the government to take care. People look after their car, kids, pets, and bear their responsibilities; in the same way they should take care of their body and health. It is an individual choice how to keep oneself healthy.

Thoughtful, I have highlighted some problem areas in the above. Can you see what they are. Click Edit and correct as many as you can. Try not to translate expressions directly from your native language to English; that rarely works!
