The first two are wrong. The third is correct, but not likely to be said. This use of "for" sounds very old-fashioned to me.

"Paloma did not make it to work because her care broke down on the freeway" is much more likely.
 
Try to give your threads more meaningful titles, fmreyes - such as Paloma did not make it to work.
