1) Please move the spikes of the clock and make it show 12 PM.

2) Please turn around the spikes of the clock and make it show 12 PM.

Please check my sentences.

They're called "hands" (not "spikes"), in case you didn't know.
Also, how can an analogue clock show AM/PM?

Also, we write "12pm". Don't put a space after the numbers and put "pm" in lower case.

With "pm" I'll concede that it doesn't make any difference whether there's a space. However, with "am", there's a danger that it'll be read as the word "am" rather than the relevant abbreviation. When I was a child, we wrote "a.m." and "p.m." but the full stops have gradually vanished over the years.

That's why using AM/PM in caps is better.

We continentals don't bother with capital letters or full stops; we just use the 24-hour clock.

It makes everything a bit clearer when there's a space.

The stops are still very much going strong in the UK.

I know. I'm just saying that I see them all the time, especially in better written texts. But yes, it's very common not to use the stops too.

I use both. (Not at the same time, of course. 😊)
