Hello respected teachers and members,
I’m applying for the Erasmus Mundus Joint Master’s Degree program and would be very grateful if you could review my motivation letter. I want to ensure that it is clear, well-structured, and aligned with the expectations of scholarship committees.
My academic background is in English Literature and Education, and I’m passionate about global learning and empowering women through education. I’ve tried to reflect this in my letter.
Please let me know if the tone, grammar, and content are appropriate, and if there are any areas I should improve.
Thank you in advance for your time and support.
(Following is my letter of motivation)
Dear Members of the Selection Committee,
My name is Aqsa Iqbal, and I am 23 years old. I completed my BS in English Literature with a CGPA of 3.57 and am currently pursuing a Bachelor of Education, where I achieved a 3.75 GPA in my first semester. My academic journey reflects both my dedication to excellence and my passion for teaching, which I aspire to continue at the university level as a professor.
Over the past five years, I have worked as a home tutor and spent nine months teaching in schools, where I taught classes ranging from primary to secondary levels. These experiences taught me discipline management, adaptability, and the ability to inspire students of diverse ages. I have also completed two certified six‑month English courses, one in Teaching English and another in Business and Technical Communication, which strengthened my pedagogical and communication skills. Beyond teaching, I gained leadership and organizational skills through roles in exam writing, network marketing, and online selling.
Coming from a family background where girls were traditionally prohibited from studying, my parents courageously left that environment to secure a brighter future for us. As the eldest daughter and the first girl in my extended family to complete a BS degree, I have become a role model for my cousins and community. Their recognition of my achievements motivates me to continue paving the way for others. My greatest dream is to establish a foundation in Pakistan that empowers women to pursue education, achieve independence, and lead successful lives. By contributing to literacy and education, I hope to inspire societal transformation and help young women chase their dreams.
The GLOBED program is the perfect platform to connect my academic background, teaching experience, and vision for global education. Its interdisciplinary approach to education policies, combined with international mobility, will allow me to understand diverse systems and apply that knowledge to reform education in my country. I am eager to engage with diverse perspectives, contribute to international dialogue, and acquire the skills necessary to advance equitable education policies. I am confident that GLOBED will help me achieve my aspiration of becoming a professor and a leader in educational reform.
Thank you for considering my application.
Sincerely,
Aqsa Iqbal
