The brutal tragedy caused by the stupid divisions we draw. The story, it seemed, fragmented into two clear images: the possible me and the real me. I’d chosen to teach Ekalavya, but something in me was clinging to the prejudices of Drona.(From The Deepest Human Life by Scott Samuelson)
The Deepest Human Life

What is the "possible me" and the "real me" in this story?

We can't say. We need a lot more context to know what it really means.

If you can post a link to the whole page, or at least the whole paragraph where the sentence appears, we'll probably know. The link you provided doesn't allow a preview of the relevant part.

The real me is almost certainly the way the person is, while the possible is what they could potentially become as a person.

This the the link of the entire passage.

In the last paragraph, "What’s the story of Ekalavya about? A teacher who chooses the elite over the common. A student who offers the teacher a fulfillment of his calling. The possibilities of participating in the highest economy of education. The psychological blockages that prevent such participation. The brutal tragedy caused by the stupid divisions we draw. The story, it seemed, fragmented into two clear images: the possible me and the real me. I’d chosen to teach Ekalavya, but something in me was clinging to the prejudices of Drona."

1. Could you please paraphrase "A student who offers the teacher a fulfillment of his calling. The possibilities of participating in the highest economy of education. The psychological blockages that prevent such participation. The brutal tragedy caused by the stupid divisions we draw."?

2. What is the "possible me " and "real me" in Ekalavya's story?

3. "I'd chosen to teach Ekalavya, but something in me was cling to the prejudices of Drona".
What's the possible me and real me in this sentence?

A teacher should work for the common good- choosing to favour the elite is not realising their full and genuine potential.

What do "the possibilities of participating in the highest economy of education" mean?

Thanks.

It means little to me other than "this author likes to use a lot of complicated, impressive-sounding phrases".

Note that you asked about the meaning of the whole phrase. We know this because you enclosed it in quotation marks. A quoted phrase is a single entity that requires a singular verb whether or not it has a plural form.

the possible me —— I’d chosen to teach Ekalavya,
the real me —— something in me was clinging to the prejudices of Drona.

or
the possible me —— something in me was clinging to the prejudices of Drona.
the real me ——I’d chosen to teach Ekalavya,

Which one is right?
