What is the meaning of the "post-pandemic period" when someone talks about the Covid-19 pandemic? Does it mean the period since the pandemic began or after it ended? So, should I use the past tense or the present tense in the following sentence I wrote for a post-covid development that is still continuing?
"The post-pandemic period witnessed/ has witnessed works of intense scholarship."

post = after

post-pandemic = after the pandemic.

I think the time of the pandemic is recent enough for us to feel that we are still in the post-pandemic period. I'd use the present perfect in your sentence.

Did something happen to scholarship while the pandemic was going on?
