Which of the above is correct?
 
There is a very basic error in sentence 1. It's not a grammatical error. It's not a spelling error. It's not a punctuation error. Can you spot it?

No. Your first sentence does not start with a capital letter.
I would use "have been impacted" instead of "are now affected" or "are now being affected" in that kind of sentence.

No. That would have been a grammatical error. You don't need to think about it any longer because teechar has given you the answer.
