What is exactly a "posting company" in the context of jobs? I think it is the company that is currently advertising an available position, but I am not sure. Is it?

It would make sense to me if they were advertising on the internet, but I would probably use the company posting in most contexts.

PS Even when talking about paper, this use of 'poster' is not unknown, but rather dated. The only fossil I can think of is in the warning 'Bill posters will be prosecuted' (in which 'bill posters' are 'people who stick notices on walls').

The context does not matter in this case, since emsr2d2 confirmed that it is not natural. I read it somewhere on the internet. I would like to use "the company posting" or "the advertising company". Which would be the correct one? Or natural.

No. Is there any problem to understand that I want to refer to the company "which is advertising/posting" the job vacancy"? I want to use an adjective. For instance, "advertising" in this case. One of my favourites pieces of graffiti was a standard poster reading "Bill Posters Will Be Prosecuted" on a wall, under which someone had daubed "Bill Posters Is Innocent"!
