I'm sorry for this question, but
if somone says "you can paint it pussy pink if you want" - is it for sure coarse word (pussy pink I mean) as the Internet shows, or one can describe color in this words without being rude? Sorry again:-(

It's always rude.

Oh mine! The book looks properly... But is this still a rude way to describe color?

When I googled the two words, the first 5 pages of hits were to porno sites. I gave up then.

Maybe in American English it is not so rude?

Maybe in American English it is not so rude?

Many books use rude language; it appears that this one is no different.

I have located it on the page - I can't copy it here. The person who used those words was being deliberately crude.

He was, which is why the narrator comments sarcastically that he had a way with words.

I have never heard that phrase but if I did, I would assume the person had no class.

I've never heard it but it's certainly an evocative phrase. I'm pretty sure I now know exactly what colour he wants to paint it! I note that the Amazon blurb about the book says that one of the characters falls in love with "a cute but Tourette's-afflicted" person. That's a pretty big hint that there's going to be quite a lot of language in it which is unsuitable for polite company.

Okay. I amend my statement. I'd assume he has no class or that he has Tourette's.

"He" - do you mean the character or the writer?

I mean whoever would say such a thing, in fiction or in real life.

Pussy pink. What an odd combination of words to describe a colour. I have never heard of a cat with pink fur.

......this thread reminded me of the often misunderstood Mrs Slocombe and her poor little cat.

I'm free!!
