Could I say both "It is pretty damned good" and "It is pretty damn good"?

Yes and yes. In my opinion, "darn good" is more common than "darned good".

Surprisingly, no-one has yet pointed out that some people find the use of the words "damn/damned" potentially offensive, I believe on religious grounds. I think "darn" is the "cleaned-up" version but I'm not sure if some people might be offended by that too.

The general advice is don't use those phrases in any formal setting, just in case.
