To: (recipient's full name), Head of community affairs, Town council
From: (your full name), volunteer in community service
Subject: Homelessness and solutions
Date:

The aim of this report is to present the current situation of homeless people in our area and to provide some solutions to this problem.

Housing
There are people, in our area, who roam the streets living on benches or under bridges. It is necessary to make sure that everyone, in our area, can access basic shelter and housing. A practical solution would be transitional housing; in particular, the construction of a tiny-house village, to give the unhoused person the time to stand on his feet sooner or later.

Employment
Homeless are, in the majority, unemployed and thus live in poverty, frequently unable to pay for housing, food, education or healthcare. The situation could be improved if these people would be hired to work for our community. Local-hiring would consequently decrease homelessness.

Healthcare
Additionally, the homeless are exposed to frostbite, infections or violence and therefore they face physical or mental illnesses, alcoholism or physical disabilities. One way of dealing with this problem is to engage doctors and nursing staff, forming a project of healthcare for them. This project if well managed can go a long way in reversing their healthcare problems.

To conclude, our intention is people experiencing homelessness to be supported and their number to be reduced. It is obvious that there are many more ways to help them beyond giving money on the street, such as providing them with adequate housing, sufficient, employment and basic healthcare.
