1-His parents raised him to become a great man.
Does this imply that they intended for him to become a great man?

Could one say:
2-His parents raised him to become a thief.
(I am assuming that they did not want him to become a thief.)

Bhai.

Thanks a lot.

Are these correct:

a-I found love to lose it again.
b-I found love only to lose it again.

(Again there is no intention involved.)

I think b is much better, a is ambiguous.
