I think it is fine, but I have a bit of a doubt.

Sentence #1 is correct (with my changes) and I'm sure it conveys the meaning the speaker intended it to.
Sentence #2 needs a comma after "process" and "has rooted against him" should be "has been rooting against him". By using "him", we have no idea who you're talking about (if this is meant to be a standalone sentence).

I'm not keen on the wording of either. It would have sounded better in the clip if she'd said "rooting against POTUS and his pursuit of peace". The way she said it made it sound as if the left-wing media were pursuing peace and they simply rooted against Trump while they were doing it.
