If a person wants to know what other people think in social networks, what will s/he ask?

I mean what they usually ask each other to know why they are facebooking, ....?

I don't understand what you're trying to ascertain. I've never asked anyone why they are "facebooking". People just use Facebook. I don't really care why.

Let me give an example. When my countrymen want to know more about their social networking friend for the first time....they ask a question that means...what do you look for? or what are you in the mood for? .....the answer will be friendship, social networking,...marriage, fun,...

I just try to find the English phrase or sentence.
