She looked up. Through her tear-filled eyes she saw, seated across from her, not Dr. Masterson, but her father. She blinked. He too was crying.

Should I understand the sentence like this?:

“Through her tear-filled eyes she saw her father seated across from her, not Dr. Masterson.”
