And only because cosi fan tutte He's trying to be clever. Mozart's opera was called Cosí fan tutte (= They [women] all behave like that { cosí stressed on the second syllable please}]. The people who bear children can be called Tutte; the people who father them can't. It would have been much clearer, and would have displayed his ignorance less, to say '...because that's the done thing/that's what everyone does'.; because there is some apparently 'higher meaning' to it all, which is not ours to comprehend. In the first two instances he was being a typical angry child/adolescent. In the last case too, he's just trying to shock his father. It's a typical bit of mixed up logic.

As to the world ending, it's a reference to one of the many (almost weekly) forecasts of doom.
