Can you say "she wanted her steak to be well-done"? I think "to be" is unnecessary.

The woman is enjoying her lunch in the restaurant. She ordered a steak with salad. She wanted her steak well-done. She also ordered iced tea.

You're right. "To be" is redundant.

I'd like a steak?
How would you like it?
I would like it well-done.
