Does double coffee differ from single one in size?

It depends. I suspect is has a different meaning depending on which country, town and coffee shop you're at.
I would assume that it usually means twice as much coffee, with the same amount of water and milk, etc. Therefore, it would be the same size. (But don't just believe me; I rarely pay good money for others to make me coffee).

Urban Dictionary: Double Coffee
Double Coffee - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Double coffee can mean many different things, I do not think it has one standard meaning. A double coffee can mean two shots of espresso instead of just one - "can I get a double?". Here in Canada, a "double-double" also means a coffee with two creams and two sugars. In regards to the urban dictionary definition: yuck!

In the UK, we have double espressos, but I haven't heard double-double used, but I don't add cream or sugar.

I don't drink coffee. ;-)

How do you teach then? I can't even start a lesson without at least two coffees (two coffees, not a double coffee!)

No meat; now no caffeine.

A double loser.

Did I say no caffeine? I said no coffee. I drink tea which has almost as much caffeine per cup as coffee. However, in all honesty, I only drink decaf tea these days!

I like to think of my health as the winner here!

I find sleeping the night before to be very beneficial!

Fair enough! My youngest child is only nine months old, so coffee is my life blood right now :-D

I don't avoid coffee on health grounds. I don't like the stuff. When I was five years old, I reached for a cup on the table, thinking it was my cup of delicious hot chocolate. I picked up the wrong cup and took a huge gulp of my grandfather's strong coffee. Yuk! I very elegantly spat most of it across the table! I have tried it two or three times since then but I can't stand the stuff. I don't even like the smell.
