Dear all,

[ I wasn't quite sure if I would nail a straight air on skier's left, ]

What is the meaning of "skier's left"?

That was said by a skier who did a backflip but failed due to powder landing.

I hope that anybody here has a bckground about skiing.

Thanks.

It realates to the problems of teaching left and right when facing a class:

The teacher's right is the student´s left. (and vice versa)

The same as loking up a mountain or a ski slope:

The climber's right is the skier's left. (and vice versa)

Then again in photography:

Camera right is the subject's left. (and vice versa)

I hope it helps.

"Skier" here is a general word? Because the speaker is the skier himself. Whay he says "the skier"?

To clarify it to the onlooker. Put yourself at the bottom of a ski slope watching the skier coming down. Your right is the skier's left. Like the director says "camera left" when the objective is to capture the subject's right.
