Human population has increased 3 times since 1950s, so has our consumption of animal products.

I want to ask native speakers, is "so has" correct?

Human population has increased three times since the 1950s so has our consumption of animal products.

I want to ask native speakers [no comma here] if "so has" is correct.

Where did you see the quoted run-on sentence? Who wrote it?

It's disrespectful to stipulate that you only want answers from native English-speakers. We have non-native English-speaking members who are perfectly capable of answering your question.

This sentence is created by me.

I want to see if my "so has" as a kind of inversion technique is correct.

Are both "so has" and "as has" fit?

Human population has increased three times since the 1950s – so has/ as has our consumption of animal products.

Say:

I wrote this sentence.

And:

Do both "so has" and "as has" fit?

Say:

Human population has increased three times since the 1959s, and so has our consumption of animal products.

Or:

Human population has increased three times since the 1950s as has our consumption of animal products.

Which do you like better?

Actually, human population has been increasing gradually since the 1950s, but 'Human population has increased three times ...' seems to mean that there have been three sudden increases in the population in six decades.

Therefore, I prefer

'Human population has increased threefold since the 1950s, and so has our consumption of animal products', or
'Human population has tripled since the 1950s, and so has our consumption of animal products'.

Also, Kachibibb your post contains a run-on sentence error. You need a period (full stop) after 1950s, not a comma.

Secondly, as Rover_KE pointed out, "increased 3 times" is unnatural and ambiguous. Use threefold.

A comma suffices with as or and so.

A comma suffices with as or and so.
With respect I disagree. Maybe with "so" alone, but not with "so has". It's still a run-on.

OK. We disagree. :)
