Are these sentences grammatically correct

a. He sold the car to her to go to work, not to lend it to her boyfriend.
b. He sold the car to her for her to go to work, not for her to lend it to her boyfriend.

if the intended meaning is

He sold the car to her for her to go to work, not for her to lend it to her boyfriend.

?

Sentence b is correct.
There is no need to rewrite it again.
I find it strange that the seller of the car has a say on how the buyer uses it.

OK. Try:

He sold her the car so she could use it to drive herself to work and back, not so she could loan it to her boyfriend.

Of course, once she buys the car it's hers, and she can do whatever she wants to do with it.

I'd say "He sold her the car so she could get to work, not so she could lend it to her boyfriend".
