A soldier who has disappeared in abattle is MIA. Do we have a word to refer to a soldier who was killed in a battle?

They were "killed in action" or KIA. See here.

You could have Googled that yourself and saved yourself some time.
 
Actually I did a quick search but I didn't find it, so I thought the safest way was this.

I just wondered if you knew what it meant. As you did know what it meant, I'm surprised that you didn't consider that "killed in action" might also be used and Google that. Those are the words I Googled and the first hit was the Wikipedia listing I gave the link to. I'm surprised you didn't find anything in your quick search.
 
I did't search for "MIA" on the Web because it was in my dictionary. But when I couldn't find the other one in my dictionary, I Googled it and it turned up nothing, so I came to you. I know and I'm sure if I had searched more I would have found it.
