Does "Something terrible must have happened for her to be so scared" mean "Something terrible must have happened, for/because she was so scared?"

Do you agree with me?

The sentence was made up by me.

How can you not know what you mean? Why have you paraphrased your own sentence, as if you're trying to understand what you mean?

The meaning of your original sentence is this: I deduce that something terrible happened that caused her to become so scared.

Your original sentence is correct but your paraphrased version is not.
