Hi.

Let's say a bridge is 100 meters long. Is it natural to describe it as "The bridge has a span of 100 meters"?

When it comes to bridges, span means "the distance between two intermediate supports". Wikipedia. Therefore, if the bridge had two main supports (and they were at or near the ends), then yes. Otherwise, use "length".
