Does "spend time with" sound natural?

The phrase itself is OK but the sentence is a bit tautologous. What else would you do after "meeting up" with friends? The use of "meet up with friends" suggests by itself that you probably spend some time with them after you've met them. It would be very odd to meet up with friends and then immediately leave them and go and do something else. Use one or the other.

On sunny days, I usually meet up with friends.
On sunny days, I usually spend time with friends.

(Note the comma after "On sunny days".)
