The children spent time with interest and fun (at the lesson).
What's the best way to say the same in good English?

You could say: "The children were interested in the lesson and enjoyed it".

You could say: "The children were interested in the lesson and enjoyed it".

Than you, MikeNewYork, why couldn't I think of such a simple phrase myself?
On some websites I read They spent fun time, can it also be used as well as enjoyed? Or is it too colloquial?

I don't think "spent fun time" works there. You could use "and had fun with it" instead of "enjoyed it".

Spent fun time doesn't work for me either, but we could say had a fun time.
